The Highlands in Scotland has these silly shaggy cows. Don't you love their 'bangs'?!
The Culloden Battlefield
This is where the Jacobite troops, under Bonnie Prince Charlie, were defeated by supporters of the Hanover dynasty in 1746.
This important battle ended the power of the Scottish Highland clans and the beginning of years of repression of Scottish culture by the English.

There is a very informative, and very good museum here. Honestly, I learned a ton!!
Check it our here:
In the little city Dores trying to spot the Loch Ness Monster 'Nessie' - it was such a beautiful day!
The Urquhart Castle
This castle was blown up by it's owners so the Jacobites wouldn't take it.
If you do end up coming up here to this castle and you are interested in touring it make sure you are on time. The doors close 30-45 minutes before closing time. Unfortunately, we missed it by 10 minutes.
Lastly, if you are a Harry Potter fan the train is located in Ft. Williams in the Highlands of Scotland!! Fun, huh? We knew we weren't going to be at Ft. Williams during the departure or the arrival of the train but we asked the train station if we could just look at the train and they told us where to go. It was so neat!! Our kids LOVED it!
