Blenheim and Oxford

BLENHEIM PALACE
pronounced "BLEN-em"

Go here for their official website:

This is another UNESCO World Heritage Site
It was originally a gift to John Churchill (the first Duke of Marlborough's) from Queen Anne for his victory of the Batte of Blenheim in the 18th c.
It is also important because another Churchill was born here - Winston Churchill who won the Battle of Britain in the 20th c.
This is where the Duke of  Marlborough actually still lives.

If you bring your kids, take this train from the palace to a family area.  There is a butterfly building where hundreds of butterfly's are and will land all over your kids constantly.  There is a HUGE chess game board where the pieces are as big as your five year old.  And there is a fantastic hedge maze!  It was seriously a lot of fun for the kids to rush through and see if we could make it out or get lost.

OXFORD

Isn't that so pretty!  Oxford was a beautiful place to stroll around.

I will be honest, the only reason we came to Oxford was to see the inspirational room for the Harry Potter Dining Hall.  It was a really neat room and our kids were so excited!
