Our first trip to Paris, France

Back in April 2012 I took my parents to Paris, France.  It was a great experience! It was seriously really fun to tour around together!  Even better was being able to see where my dad spent 2.5 years of his life teaching the French about our religion.  If you are interested in what he taught go HERE or HERE

The Eiffel Tower -
The tower admission is not included in the Paris Pass (which is awesome!).  So you just have to swallow your pride and pay to go to the top.  We went first thing in the morning and had to wait FOREVER to take the lift up to the top.  I would recommend standing in the shorter line which lets you climb half way up and then you take the lift to the top.  It would save you so much time!

Go HERE to purchase tickets ahead of time (if you're lucky & they aren't sold out already)

Norte Dame
One can climb one of the towers for a fee.  We didn't do it but plan to do it with our kids - our kids LOVE climbing anything and everything!

A bridge filled with locks - people put these locks on the bridge to symbolize their devotion to their loved one - I was so excited when we stumbled onto it - if I had thought ahead I would have put one on myself.

A random light-post ... during a time where we were resting and trying to figure out what to do next.
Below is the view where we were resting.  Amazing, huh?

Sacre-Coeur (Sacred Heart Basilica of Montmartre)
We didn't find out until afterwards that there is a lift that takes you up the 100's of stairs.  Sorry Mom!
Oh, and FYI the street below leading up to the Basilica has great CHEAP souvenirs.

Sainte-Chapelle - which, has the most amazing stain-glass windows EVER!
It is currently under renovation right now (they are slowing cleaning the windows) but you are still allowed inside.  They only work on one area at a time so you still get an amazing visit.

Musee du Louvre
We took the train in, ate at McDonalds (I know, we are so American) and skipped the HUGE line going into the 'glass triangle'.  I recommend doing it that way!

Another shot of the Eiffel Tower ... we were walking down some side street trying to find a specific bus stop and boom ... the Eiffel Tower.  Love it!

Above & Below:  Arch de Triumph
We climbed these stairs to the top though one is allowed to take the lift.  Again, sorry Mom!  The second time we went (since the Paris Pass gets you in for free) we took the lift up and down.

The night view on top of the Arch de Triumph.  So worth it!!!
